Engine Performance
A new petrol powered Passat is now available for the first time. With its 7-speed DSG transmission and direct injected, turbo-charged TSI 118kW engine it produces an impressive 250 Nm of torque. The powerful and fuel economic 2.0 litre TDI Diesel engines are also available, both coupled with a 6 speed DSG transmission and includes a 103kW Trendline version producing 320 Nm of torque and a 125kW Comfortline producing 350 Nm of torque. The 125kW TDI engine also has a 4Motion Comfortline version available. The TDI Diesel models come standard with our new BlueMotion Technologies system.

Safety
The new Passat achieved a EuroNCAP safety rating of 5 and comes equipped with ESP including brake assist system, 'Rest Assist' driver fatigue detection system, safety optimised front head restraints and ISOFIX mounting points on outer two rear seats for child seats. A comprehensive airbag network including driver and passenger airbags, curtain airbag system for front and rear passengers and side airbags in front seats comes as standard across all models.

Drive train
DCC adaptive chassis control is available as an option across all models and offers three different programs: “Sport”, “Normal” and “Comfort”. For example, the “Sport” mode features relatively stiff dampers to match the changed steering characteristics. The result is a driving experience on a par with that of an agile sports car. However, the DCC adaptive suspension control system can do much more: It provides the optimum settings for every individual driving situation and type of road.
